NOTE: Site Safe Card Renewal

Through the Vertical Horizonz and Site Safe partnership, trainees who complete this Mobile Elevated Work Platform course can also automatically renew their existing Site Safety Card (Passport).
Additionally, completion of this course can contribute towards the Site Safe Certificate in Construction Site Safety. Enrolment for this is seamless and happens on the day of the course.
This service incurs a $20 administration fee. It does not apply to Vertical Horizonz Refresher courses.

 

Overview

Both theory and practical lessons covering the following:

• Identify the different types of MEWPs, their suitability for purpose, and safety features.

• Understand the legislative requirements in relation to the Approved Code of Practice for the use of MEWPs.

• Assess the worksite, and prepare to use a MEWP.

• Carry out MEWP operations.

• The MEWP is shut down, made safe, and secured, in accordance with organisational requirements.

Maximum of two machines - one day

23966   Describe types of Elevating Work Platforms, and legislative requirements for their use

23960   Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift elevating work platform

23962   Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self-propelled boom lift EWP

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) REQUIRED:

• Hard-boots / Steel-capped boots

• Hi-Vis

• Hard-hat / Helmet VHNZ can provide
  
   

NOTE: Vertical Horizonz can provide Hi-Vis and helmets if required. If you do not have the correct PPE you will not be allowed to complete your practical assessments.

Refresher

In alignment with industry best practice Vertical Horizonz recommends a refresher course within three years.
